Cancellation and refunds
Datlay is not open yet. This page is version 1, published ahead of the launch in 2027. It applies from the day the service opens. Until then there is nothing to pay and nothing to refund.
This page forms part of the Datlay Self-Serve Terms. Datlay is sold to businesses only. The seller is Rteam FZE LLC.
The trial
The trial is free for 14 days, or longer if extended, and needs no payment card. Nothing is charged when it ends, so there is nothing to cancel or refund.
Renewal
Subscriptions renew automatically for the same period, a month or a year, until cancelled. At least 30 days before a yearly subscription renews, we email your administrators the size and the amount of the next year. The charge on your card statement names Datlay.
How to cancel
An administrator cancels on the billing page of the workspace, or by email to support@datlay.com from the administrator's address in the account. You can cancel at any time, without giving a reason. We confirm the cancellation by email to every administrator of the workspace, with the date the paid period ends.
When a cancellation takes effect
- Monthly subscription: it ends at the end of the month already paid. Nothing more is charged.
- Yearly subscription: it ends at the end of the year already paid and does not renew. Nothing more is charged.
Until the paid period ends, Datlay keeps working in full. After it ends, your workspace stays open read-only for 30 days so that you can export what you need, and is then deleted with a certificate of deletion, as section 15 of the Terms describes.
What we refund
A period that has started is not refunded: not the rest of a month already started on a monthly subscription, and not the unused part of a year already paid on a yearly one. You know the period before you pay, and you can cancel before the next one starts.
We do refund in these cases:
- A charge made in error, such as a duplicate charge, a charge after a cancellation took effect, or an amount above the one shown at checkout. We refund the amount charged in error in full.
- The subscription ends because of our side. We refund the fees prepaid for the period after the end where you end the subscription because we materially breached the Terms and did not cure it within 30 days of your notice, or because we did not correct a material fault within 30 days of your notice; where you end it after objecting to a new sub-processor; where we end it without a reason, with notice; where an infringement claim forces us to end a part of the service; where sanctions law stops us from providing it; and where force majeure prevents the service for more than 30 consecutive days. The Terms (sections 14.6, 17.5, 18.2, 20 and 22.4, and section 6 of the DPA) set out each case.
Nothing on this page limits a refund right that the law governing these Terms does not allow to be excluded.
A change of size
Your size can change as section 8.3 of the Terms describes, and we tell your administrators in writing first, with the counts.
- Monthly subscription: the new size applies from the first billing period that starts at least 30 days after our notice.
- Yearly subscription: a change at renewal applies from the renewal. Between renewals, your size moves only up, and only if each of three consecutive calendar months is more than 50% above the upper edge of your size. The higher size then applies from the first day of the first calendar quarter that starts at least 30 days after our notice, and we charge the difference in price, pro rata, for the rest of the paid year.
A size moves down only at a renewal or, on a monthly subscription, at a 12-month anniversary, so a lower size never leads to a refund of a period already paid.
How a refund reaches you
- Refunds are issued through Stripe, our payment provider, to the payment method used for the original payment, in the currency charged.
- If a refund to the original payment method fails, we refund by bank transfer to your company.
- We issue a credit note for every refund, and it is listed in the workspace with the invoices.
- How long a refund takes to appear depends on your bank. Stripe states that a card refund appears as a credit approximately 5 to 10 business days after it is issued, depending on the bank (Stripe's documentation on refunds).
